1. Equipment Overview

The GREENS MACHINERY Water-Based Acrylic Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) Production Line is a turnkey system engineered specifically for manufacturing adhesives used in BOPP packaging tape and PE protective film. Built around acrylic emulsion polymerization, the line integrates deionized water treatment, monomer pre-emulsification, initiator dosing, and reactor polymerization into one continuous workflow.

All product-contact parts are stainless steel, delivering acid/alkali resistance, high-temperature stability, and corrosion resistance for long polymerization cycles. The system is available in capacities of 3, 5, 10, 20, and 40 tons, and can be custom-configured to your production requirements.

3. Process Flow

The line follows a standard acrylic emulsion polymerization sequence:

  1. Water Purification — RO unit produces deionized water, stored in separate cold and hot tanks;
  2. Pre-Emulsification — Butyl acrylate and other monomers are mixed with water and emulsifier in the emulsification tank;
  3. Initiator Dosing — Initial and dropping initiators are fed per the process curve to control polymerization rate;
  4. Polymerization — The reactor’s paddle + baffle + spray system ensures uniform heat transfer, with a condenser for reflux control;
  5. Discharge & Filtration — Pneumatic diaphragm pump transfers the finished water-based acrylic PSA after filtration.
